About Finest Golden China Yunnan Loose Leaf Tea

The Yunnan province of South-West China, with an enviable 2,100 years of recorded tea cultivation, is a true grandee of the global tea industry. The tropical river-valleys furrowing the harsh, mountainous landscape boast a fertility, climate and annual rainfall that consistently produce some of the finest teas in the world.

Our 'Finest Golden China Yunnan' is an FOP (Flowery Orange Pekoe) variety that uses only high-grade, orange tipped leaves. It may be characterised by its nectary, malty flavour with subtle overtones of apricot. In a busy lifestyle, this sensual Gold Yunnan tea is the consummate cup on which to put up your feet and float away from the stress and strife of a hectic schedule.

Taste

Malty but still delicate with an intriguingly complex and fruity after-taste.

Aroma

Rich and floral with a hint of smoke.

Appearance

Broad, dark leaves with a liberal scattering of golden-orange buds brew a rich, amber coloured liquid.

Brewing Instructions

  •  1½ – 2 teaspoons per cup (12-15 grams per litre) should be just the ticket.
  • Ensure the water is boiling (100°C) to fully infuse the tea's taste.
  • Steep for a mere 2-4 minutes.
  • Tastes absolutely splendid black but a drop of milk can take the edge off nicely for those who find unaccompanied tea a little sharp.
