The Kettle Shed joins London museum’s Tea in Transport day
Earlier this month the Kettle Shed were proud to play a major role as tea took over the London Transport Museum in an event hosted by the lovely Peju.
As part of their Tea In Transport day – which aims to bring young people into the museum – we held a bespoke tea making workshop which included a wide variety of our blends.
In teams of three, the young freelancers picked types of tea which represented different items from around the museum based on the five senses: sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. These were organised and thought out by the amazing freelancers.
After much deliberation, the teams brought their selections to us which were then blended into their very own tea.
Team Khadija’s blend consisted of earl grey, fruit burst and peppermint tea.
Team Elizabeth’s entry included chilli, ginger, coconut and a plain black base tea.
Finally Team Marie went for an earl grey, cinnamon, earthy, ginger and clove tea mixture.
Once blended, the teams tasted each others tea before casting their vote for the winner online, with Team Marie taking first place by just 1%… Well done!
After the hard work was done, everyone got together to enjoy some cake and Kettle Shed teas.
We loved being part of the #TeaInTransport day which was a great success and also included tea tours and seminars.
Here at the Kettle Shed we are always looking to take part in tea events such as these, so if you have a desire for tea tasting and blending don’t hesitate to get in touch – zoe@thekettleshed.com.
Remember, at The Shed, we really do ‘Give A Cup’! Every time you buy a box of tea, we donate tea directly to homeless shelters across the UK. Our packaging is made from recycled cardboard and our fuso tea bags are biodegradable, so we don’t harm the planet.
