We want to share this blog with you for our lovely customers to see where your donations are going through the #WeGivaCup process. This month we took a batch of breakfast tea over to TSPH, (The Shelter Project Hounslow) to donate to their wonderful programme who provide 14 male guests’ hot food and accommodation from January to March inclusive. These will mainly be individuals with no recourse to public funds, but a small percentage who have temporary housing needs will also be welcomed on the advice of local referral agencies. [ Video from TSPH Website ] INFO regarding the programme The shelter is held in a different church each night of the week from December to March inclusive, providing emergency accommodation and hot food for up to 14 male guests every night. Objectives Churches in Hounslow across denominations working together to offer the homeless a safe and warm environment in the coldest winter months. An opportunity to demonstrate the love of Christ to those who for various reasons have no roof over their heads, and who have suffered the lack of a sense of community, human compassion and kindness. Supporting local referral agencies working with the homeless to help individual’s access appropriate support and encourage them in their transition back into community and out of homelessness. Why they need your help The Project keeps its costs down to a minimum through its use of volunteers. They do however need just £10,000 per year to continue to run their services and they are seeking YOUR help in order to try and secure their future. The Project absolutely rely on voluntary funding to be able to carry on and without the generosity of their supporters there are people who will remain on the streets of Hounslow, who do not have the support they need to move their lives forward. What might your contribution fund? The following donations could help The Project provide: • £5 a bag of toiletries – so important if someone has a job interview! • £45 an evening meal for a full Shelter of 14 men • £850 keeps our entire Project going for another month • £1500 helps provide mattresses and bedding for a whole winter DONATIONS If you are able to make a donation, please contact the Co-ordinator, Beverley Ajayi on: 07804 654 510 or e-mail her at beverleyhomeless14@gmail.com Alternatively, a cheque made out to ‘The Shelter Project Hounslow’ should be sent to: The Treasurer TSPH, Christ Church Turnham Green, Town Hall Avenue, London W4 5DT.
